Callum Cryans is the founder and Director of CMC Contracts, a construction commercial management and contract administration services business he established in May 2025.

Callum qualified as a Quantity Surveyor in South Africa after completing a BTech in Quantity Surveying, working there for around eight years before moving to Australia in 2017 to join Lendlease Engineering (now Acciona) as a Contract Administrator on Sydney's NorthConnex tunnelling project.

In the years since, he has worked across roads, rail, building and water infrastructure projects with Tier 1 contractors, with his final role before CMC Contracts focused on the commercial mobilisation of multi-billion dollar infrastructure projects.

Out of CMC Contracts he developed CAAi (Construction Administration Artificial Intelligence), an AI-native platform for construction contract administration, which he explains exists to give small civil subcontractors access to the same standard of contract review as tier-1 builders without the tier-1 price tag.

Callum advocates a hybrid model that combines AI with senior commercial expertise to improve the financial health of subcontractors in the Australian construction supply chain, a perspective he has also shared as a guest on The Building Talks Podcast.
