Elle Kress is the founder of Hey Good News PR, a public relations agency working across Australia and New Zealand, and of WorkTribes, a curated community and platform for PR and communications professionals that she founded in 2021.

Based in Greater Sydney, Elle has spent more than a decade in public relations across London and Sydney, with earlier roles including the corporate communications team at Accenture and financial, investor relations and healthcare work spanning biotech, pharma, medical device, life sciences, retail, health and tech companies.

She studied at King's College London. Elle explains that WorkTribes grew out of her own experience of starting Hey Good News PR and missing having a team around her, beginning as a Slack community before developing into a broader ecosystem for freelancers and in-house communicators.

Her thinking focuses on how modern PR actually works, from the distinction between a freelancer and a scalable micro agency to a 'six-month rule' for retainers, where she believes effective PR is less about chasing a single big hit and more about building a founder story that compounds over time.
