Giles Bourne is a co-founding partner of Scalare Partners, which he established in 2020 alongside James Walker and Nick Roberts. In October 2025 he was appointed to the board of Scalare Partners Holdings Limited as an Executive Director, while continuing in his founding role.

Before Scalare, Giles was Managing Director and CEO of BluGlass Limited (ASX: BLG), an Australian semiconductor company, a position he held from 2008 until 2021. He brings over 25 years of international experience across the clean-tech, technology and manufacturing sectors.

Giles holds a BA (Hons) in Geography from the University of Leicester and an MBA from Macquarie Graduate School of Management, and has completed the Australian Institute of Company Directors program. His board roles extend across SRJ Technologies Group and several Scalare portfolio companies, including Circadian Health Innovations, FreeGuides and Ticketless Parking.

Much of Giles's work focuses on helping founders move from early technical progress to commercial traction. As he puts it, "It's a long way from a breakthrough to a paying customer." That perspective was shaped in part by winning the Australian Technologies Competition with BluGlass in 2013, a competition he now helps lead through Scalare Partners.
