Josephine Roufaiel is the founder of venEyes, an Australian eyewear brand that designs and manufactures ultra-light 3D-printed frames. She is also Managing Director of 3D EXPLORER Pty Ltd, the Sydney 3D printing services company that developed the venEyes brand. venEyes is based in Sydney, with a store at Rouse Hill in New South Wales serving as the home of the brand and offering a complete optical dispensary service, including prescription fittings and health fund acceptance.
Josephine says her work with venEyes began in 2019, when she started researching how advanced 3D printing technology could create lightweight, durable everyday eyewear using materials suitable for skin contact. At the time, she explains, the 3D printing technology and specialised finishing processes she needed were not readily available in Australia. venEyes launched as a B2B eyewear brand in 2021 and introduced a B2C model in 2024.
Josephine describes the inspiration behind venEyes as the observation that people wear eyewear daily, yet finding glasses that are comfortable, fit well and reflect their personality can be frustrating. Her brand uses a 3D scanning and printing system, including a high-precision digital scanner and virtual try-on, to create personalised frames tailored to each customer's facial features. venEyes is a member of ODMA and is listed in the Australian Fashion Council directory.
