Matt Wright is a Brisbane-based entrepreneur who founded the used-car business Cars4Us in 2019. Having come to Australia from the UK, he built the company from four people and a seven-car warehouse into an operation with roughly 200 employees, a Brisbane warehouse holding about 1,000 cars, and around $500 million in annual revenue. In 2025, at the age of 33, Matt sold MCT Automotive Group, the parent company of Cars4Us, to Toyota Tsusho Corporation for $120 million, approximately six years after founding it.

Matt describes the sale as an 18-month process involving multiple parties, and he does not intend to retire. He plans to stay with the company for a couple of years during the Toyota Tsusho transition while continuing to run businesses, having routinely worked 80- to 100-hour weeks while building Cars4Us.

His focus now extends to backing other founders. Matt launched Founder Finds Future, an investment initiative under which he plans to invest $1 million each into three founders, one in Australia, one in the UK and one in the US, alongside a year of mentorship. He chose $1 million per founder because anything less, as he puts it, "doesn't move the needle," and he frames the initiative as the help he wishes he'd had.
