Sarda Nana is the founder and a director of Agreement Works Pty Ltd, an Australian social enterprise focused on consent education. The company's flagship resource, Agreement F.I.R.S.T., is a consent card game designed for children and young people aged 10 and up, and it sits at the centre of what Agreement Works presents to the public.
The game is built around five elements of consent, drawn from the F.I.R.S.T. acronym: Freely given, Informed, Responsive, Specific, and Talked about. Rather than treating consent as an abstract idea, the format gives young people a structured, hands-on way to work through each element. Agreement Works positions Agreement F.I.R.S.T. as an educational resource rather than a therapeutic one, and describes the game as trauma-informed and aligned to the Australian school curriculum.
The product is developed, designed, printed and manufactured in Australia, and is priced at $39.00 per deck including postage within the country. That local production and accessible price point reflect the social enterprise model Sarda has built the company around since establishing her role as director in July 2023, based in Milsons Point, Sydney.
Sarda's background informs the work. She states she has more than two decades of experience across learning and organisational development, policy, crime prevention, justice, disability, education, community and private sectors. Her LinkedIn records earlier roles at the NSW Attorney General's Department, including Senior Policy Officer in the Crime Prevention Division and Manager, Learning and Development. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Victoria University of Wellington and a Diploma in Teaching, along with qualifications in mediation and facilitation.
That combination of education, policy and facilitation experience sits behind the design choices in Agreement F.I.R.S.T. The game translates a serious subject into something children and the adults around them can engage with directly, giving families and educators a practical starting point for conversations about consent. For Sarda, the card game is a way to make consent education concrete, local and within reach.
