Jenny Li's professional profile reads as a study in finance leadership applied to high-growth businesses. A Partner at Scalare Partners, the Sydney-based technology investment and startup support firm, Jenny has built a career that connects rigorous financial governance with the specific needs of early-stage founders.

Her credentials sit at the centre of that work. Jenny is a CPA and a member of CPA Australia, and holds a Bachelor of Commerce with a double major in Finance and Accounting from UNSW. That foundation has carried through roles across several organisations. Before joining Scalare, she served as Finance Director at Sterling RISQ, where she established and led the finance function, and also held a VP of Client Delivery role at Sterling. Earlier in her career she worked as a Senior Accountant at First Advantage.

Jenny describes herself as a strategy-focused, results-oriented finance leader with more than 15 years' experience in improving financial governance and advising multinational businesses and high-growth startups. She has also said she came to Australia from China at the age of 16, and that her career has centred on growing startups into established global businesses.

That interest in building companies extends beyond Scalare. Jenny is a co-founder of AsiaVerify, a RegTech company providing real-time KYB, KYC, AML and UBO verification across Asian jurisdictions, where she has served in advisory, board and leadership capacities. The two roles reinforce one another, pairing hands-on company-building with the financial discipline that growing businesses need to scale.

At Scalare, Jenny stepped into the Chief Financial Officer role for Scalare Partners Holdings Limited on 15 July 2026, having held the CFO position before her parental leave. Across her work with founders, including conversations captured in a Fintech Chatter podcast episode alongside Scalare co-founder Giles Bourne, Jenny's focus stays consistent: applying finance expertise to help early-stage companies grow into lasting ones.
