Justine Youl's LinkedIn profile offers a direct window into how she built SiteSherpa, the Australian workplace safety and compliance technology company she founded. On the platform, Justine describes a start that looks nothing like a conventional software launch. She says she moved to Bali and lived in one bedroom shared with her three children, had $20,000 in the bank, and homeschooled the kids while building the company.
That account sits alongside more than 20 years of frontline experience in mining and construction, work that began with Justine operating heavy machinery before she moved into workplace health and safety leadership and consulting. The decision to relocate and build was deliberate. Justine sold her possessions and moved from Australia to Bali with her children and limited savings in order to get SiteSherpa off the ground.
The technical side came from teaching herself. Justine built SiteSherpa's first minimum viable product from Bali, learning to code through YouTube before AI tools were in widespread use. On LinkedIn she also describes the ownership structure behind the business, explaining that she has bootstrapped SiteSherpa, still owns 100 percent of the company, and has built a national consulting business alongside the technology product.
SiteSherpa itself is a WHS compliance and safety technology platform paired with a consultancy, covering incident reporting, hazard tracking, risk assessments, SWMS, audits, contractor management, ISO 45001 audits and WHS training, and it markets an AI-powered safety app. The product is pitched at high-risk industries including mining, construction and civil infrastructure, the same sectors where Justine spent her early career.
Justine's profile reaches beyond the company too. She is the founder and host of MENTAL Street Talk, a mental-health conversation series, and she uses her public presence to publish personal reflections on entrepreneurship and the founder experience. Taken together, her LinkedIn presence documents a founder willing to show the full shape of how SiteSherpa was built, from a shared bedroom in Bali to a self-owned safety platform serving Australian industry.
