Rohit Bhargava, the Founder and Director of Playbook Media, maintains a YouTube channel that carries his work documenting the people behind startups into video form. Based in Melbourne, Rohit has built much of his public profile around conversations with founders, investors and industry experts, and the channel sits alongside that body of work.

The centrepiece of Rohit's interviewing is The Startup Playbook Podcast, which he hosts. The show focuses on how founders and investors got started, the strategies they used and the advice they offer other entrepreneurs. Launched in 2016, it has featured close to 200 episodes over roughly eight years, building a substantial archive of conversations for people interested in how companies are built.

That archive includes a range of recognisable names. Guests have included Paul Bassat of Seek and Square Peg Capital, Ash Maurya of Lean Canvas, Justin Dry of Vinomofo and Jason Calacanis, with later listings adding Malcolm Turnbull, Cal Henderson of Slack and Micha Kaufman of Fiverr. The breadth of guests reflects the reach Rohit has developed through the show, which also climbed to #3 on the iTunes charts.

Rohit's interviewing draws on his own experience as an operator. Before the podcast, he was Co-Founder and CEO of StageLabel, a crowdfunding platform for fashion that helped launch over 150 fashion brands globally. He is also a founder and partner of Playbook Ventures, an early-stage angel syndicate investing in technology companies, giving him a working view of the same decisions his guests describe.

For viewers, the YouTube channel offers another way into Rohit's catalogue of founder conversations. It extends the reach of a project he has sustained for the better part of a decade, keeping the focus where his work has consistently sat: on the practical lessons of the people building companies.
