The About Us page of Agreement Works introduces Sarda Nana, the founder and a director of the Australian social enterprise she built around consent education. Based in Sydney, Sarda has led the company since July 2023, developing resources designed to make conversations about consent clearer and more accessible.

Sarda describes drawing on over two decades of experience across learning and organisational development, policy, crime prevention, justice, disability, education, and the community and private sectors. Her earlier work includes senior roles at the NSW Attorney General's Department, where she served as a Senior Policy Officer in the Crime Prevention Division and as Manager of Learning and Development. That background in policy and education sits directly behind the approach Agreement Works takes today.

The company explains that Sarda's advocacy was shaped by frontline experience, including helping establish the first Women's Refuge in Wellington, New Zealand, and work as a classroom teacher and adult educator. Sarda holds a Bachelor of Arts from Victoria University of Wellington and a Diploma in Teaching, with further qualifications including CELTA and training in mediation and facilitation. It is a combination of practical teaching skill and policy perspective that informs how she thinks about consent as something to be taught plainly and early.

That thinking takes shape in Agreement F.I.R.S.T., the consent card game developed by Agreement Works for children and young people aged ten and up. The game teaches five elements of consent: freely given, informed, responsive, specific, and talked about. Agreement Works positions the resource as educational rather than therapeutic, and describes it as trauma-informed and aligned to the Australian school curriculum. The deck is developed, designed, printed and manufactured in Australia.

For Sarda, the through-line across her career and her current work is the same. Her experience across education, policy and community sectors feeds into a focused contribution: giving young people a clear, structured way to understand and talk about consent.
