Starting Multiple Business's in Australia
From home birthing 2 babies and vlogging my whole life to starting multiple businesses, i know first hand anything is possible and you can do it if you have faith.
One of the questions that used to sit with me while we were travelling Australia was simple and a little bit terrifying: how do you get rescued in the middle of nowhere if the bus fails you? We were out in places where help isn't around the corner, and we didn't have a clean answer to that. What we had was faith that it would work out, and it did.
Travelling with backpackers was accidental. It wasn't part of a tidy plan. But underneath the accidental part, I've always carried a vision of how I wanted my life to look. A dream so big it felt unachievable. And those are usually the exact ones worth chasing, because if they felt easy and ordinary you wouldn't have needed to dream them in the first place.
So if you have an idea of how you want your life to go, my honest advice is to go after it regardless of what's standing in front of you. There will always be an obstacle. Ours was a bus and a lot of empty road between towns. Yours will be something else. The obstacle is rarely a good enough reason to abandon the vision.
The practical version of this is simpler than it sounds. Look at what you actually love and ask what business could sit around it. Love travel, start a tour company. Obsessed with visual storytelling, become a photographer. Love people, find work that puts you with them. I've done versions of both of those myself, and the through line was never a clever plan. It was building around the thing I didn't want to stop doing.
Build a business around what you love. The rest you work out on the road.
